A new tradition, rooted in ancient culture

The Gold Coast Greek Festival was born from a simple idea shared by a group of passionate Greek Australians: to open the doors of Greek culture to the entire Gold Coast community. Inspired by the beloved festivals that have united cities across Australia for decades, we set out to create a celebration this region could call its own.

2026 marks the first Greek festival on the Gold Coast in thirteen years, and the beginning of what we hope will become a treasured annual tradition. As a not-for-profit, community-driven event, every souvlaki served and every dance performed is powered by volunteers, families and local businesses who believe in the spirit of filoxenia; the Greek love of welcoming a stranger as a friend.

Over the festival you will find a feast for every sense: the aroma of char-grilled meats and freshly fried loukoumades, the colour of traditional costumes worn by our Hellenic dancers, and the irresistible rhythm of live bouzouki that fills the air well into the night. Bring the family for children's activities, browse handmade goods at our market stalls, and share a meze plate with new friends.

Greek culture has always been about coming together — around a table, around music, around community. Whether you trace your roots to a village in the Peloponnese or you are simply Greek at heart, there is a place for you here.
